General Questions about World Culture Open
What are the aims of World Culture Open?
You can click here to view WCO's Mission & Vision on our website which will give you a general picture of what WCO aims to achieve. While there might be better ways to describe WCO's goal and objectives, the fundamental of World Culture Open's philosophy and passion is that every individual must be able to live a healthy, balanced life and live together with others in peace and harmony.
WCO Awards
What is the aim of the award?
The WCO Awards were established to pay the highest tribute possible to cultural emissaries and practitioners of humanitarian service through culture whose unceasing efforts and invaluable contributions have benefited both humanity and the world.
What is WCO Awards Ceremony?
The WCO Committee organizes WCO Awards Ceremony every four years to honor the award winners and bring dedicated individuals and organizations from all over the world to celebrate it together. The ceremonial process provides participants with a valuable opportunity to learn about other cultures on a deeper level, as well as recognize and encourage each other's work through celebration. More importantly, the Awards Ceremony helps the world see and be reminded of the beauty and value of such efforts and helps motivate people to join this cultural movement for the development of a peaceful and harmonious future.
Who can be nominated for the WCO Awards?
The award nomination is open to any individuals or organizations whose works
1) are culturally oriented and 2) have benefited humanity and the world through practice and implementation of the values of holistic wellbeing, harmony and peace. For more information about the award criteria, Click here to view WCO AWARDS on our website.
How can I apply for the WCO Awards?
In fact, you cannot apply for yourself. Selection of the awards winners is strictly based on nomination. While a nomination submitted by a representative of a legitimate organization may receive better regard, there is no specific qualification about a nominator and all nominations are accepted unless self-nomination.
When are the official deadlines?
The official deadlines for the WCO Cultural Competition 2008 will be announced in 2007. For more reference, check WCO2004 Global Festival on our website. Click here to go to WCO2004 Global Festival
WCO Cultural Competition
What is the idea behind the WCO Cultural Competition?
The WCO Cultural Competition program provides a forum for celebrating diversity through non-competitive cultural exchange. The WCO Cultural Competition focuses on fostering an open environment for people to meet directly and experience firsthand other cultures. The three primary goals of the Cultural Competition are the following:
1) To motivate the creative development of cultural traditions via a competition format;
2) To promote the excellence and expertise in each cultural field and activity; and
3) To provide an accessible, non-competitive friendly environment for people to share and exchange cultural wisdom and heritage.
I'd like to know more about the competition entries.
WCO continues developing more inclusive competition entries in order that this competition program may wholly reflect the values of diversity. While the three main categories of Creative Arts, Holistic Wellbeing and Humanitarian Service will remain the same, specific entries under each category are subject to change.
