Facilitating a culture of sharing and enlivening local cultural scene

The Creative Sharing Program of the WCO includes diversified activities that help enjoy more rich culture while creatively sharing diversified cultural resources including space, talent, physical matter and voluntary service endowed by individuals.

Talent sharing by artists and cultural practitioners allows the general public with an increased cultural opportunity to enjoy diverse cultural programs free of charge, including concerts and educational programs. In the mean time, other types of sharing such as community service and sharing material goods also contribute to the larger movement of creative sharing as they help facilitate those programs in different aspects.

Cultural space being particularly pursued by the WCO is a creative, collaborative and public-centered cultural space that connects property owners who have passion for arts, culture and community to those who need a space for cultural programs and activities. WCO’s C!HERE movement, for example, transforms various forms of empty spaces in a city, such as office space in the weekends, classrooms and schoolyards after school hours, and theaters and exhibition spaces on days without events, into an exciting and community-centered cultural places. Through the process of creating and organizing public cultural spaces for the community, diverse groups of community members get to meet and interact with each other, many a disparate resources are recognized and integrated as cultural assets of the community, and local cultural scenes are invigorated in synergy with the growth of the local economy.
