The Joe Louis Theater , located in the Thai capital of Bangkok, is the only theater in Thailand that still performs traditional Thai puppet theater. The theater was founded in 1985 by Mr. Sakorn Yangkeawsot, who had been nicknamed ¡°Joe Louis¡± early in his career. The Joe Louis Theater¡¯s performance center round the Hun Lakorn Lek, first created a century ago by the Master Krea Saphatawanich. The theater has remained in Mr. Yangkiewsot¡¯s family, and continues to train puppeteers and perform Hun Lakhom Lek shows.
